Idaho Trip

We decided that since we were not able to attend the Humphrie's Camp out/Family Reunion this year, we would head west and celebrate the 4th of July in Idaho.  We left Friday evening and headed up to St. Michael for a BMX race.  Immediately following Brad's race we hit the road and headed across North Dakota, Montana, and then finally dropped down into Idaho.  Sam is the road trip master!! He drove all through the night only stopping for gas while the kids and I slept.  We stopped for breakfast in Bozeman, MT and let the kids run around and play for about an hour. Then we all hopped back in the van and arrived in Idaho by mid-day Saturday.  We hit a dear (well the dear ran out and hit us) early Saturday morning.  It was SOOO loud we were sure the entire side of the van was going to be bashed in.  Some how....when we finally got the nerve to check the damage, all we saw was hair in the rear fender and 2 tiny dents the size of b-b's.  We are so blessed that there was no damage or injuries to anything or anyone besides the poor deer.

We had such an amazing time visiting with family and enjoying the holiday together.  There is not much better than an "Idaho trip."  We miss everyone already and can't wait for next summer so we can see everyone again at the family reunion.

Here are a few of the fun activities that we did and were able to snap some pictures of.....

Yum Yum Yummy Dinner at Nana and Grandpa's

We finally get to meet Little Miss Penelope!

(Maddie and Penelope were born
 only one month apart)

The kids all loved the horses in Nana and Grandpas back yard.

Maddie could NOT get enough of the dirt

Horseback Riding

After finishing Black Beauty, Brad has been very aware and curious about horses.  The Howard's, Nana and Grandpa's neighbors, had two horses and 2 wonderful daughters that offered to let the kids ride.  They all had so much fun.  Brad was ecstatic to ride a horse for the first time.  He did a great job and loved every minute of it.

Even Sam got up there and gave it a try....

A Day at the Park

The weather could not have been better for our trip.  We were able to enjoy every day while we were there playing outside.  One day we decided to head to the park while Nana and Grandpa were at work.  We all had a lot of fun!!

it is a fun little action sequence :p

Haeberle Family Dinner at Jake and Lisa's House

Jake and Lisa put together a wonderful dinner for us all while we were in town.  We were able to visit and see so many cousins, aunts and uncles.  Grandpa brought a ton of fireworks for the kids to play with after dinner.  Such a fun night.  A trip to Idaho just wouldn't be complete without a dinner at the "ranch."

Another action sequence!!

4th of July Parade in Ashton, ID

Having your Grandpa be the Sheriff is so cool in so many ways!! One of the perks is getting to ride in the Parade and throw candy at the crowds.  Brad had so much fun riding in the parade.

He really wore himself out throwing all that candy.

Melaleuca Firework Show in Idaho Falls with Jenny and Sterling's Family

After the parade and a delicious BBQ at Nana and Grandpa's, we decided to head down to Idaho Falls for their firework show.  We met up with Sam's cousin Jenny and her family.  They staked out the best spot in town!! It was so much fun playing at the park, riding bikes, and exploring all of the festivities.  The fireworks were amazing and it was well worth the drive.  Maddie's first time watching fireworks went extremely well.  She was very impressed and said "woooooooooowwwww" more times than I could count! :)

Brad was unfortunately not in the mood for pictures.

They were completely exhausted by the time we were ready to finally head home.

Splash Pad in Rexburg with Nana and Annie

While the boys headed out fishing (I still need to snag some of those pics from Grandpa), us girls headed to town to run some errands.  After we made all of the necessary stops, we headed to the splash pad to cool down.  Annie and Maddie had a great time playing in all of the fountains and slides.  We also had the chance to ride the carousel before we left.  Maddie loved every second of it and held on so tight I couldn't have budged her if I tried.

Visit with Courtney in Gillette, WY

We were able to coordinate a small window of time to meet up with my friend Courtney on our way back to Minnesota.  It was so amazing to see her and get to visit with her.
Sure do miss my BFF!! :p
